Schaeffer Heights: Chapter 1

Thurston Shadwick is a new student at Schaeffer Heights High and discovers some of the students there acquire strange powers and he is among them. The student body has established secret societies called Houses to police each other and keep their powers secret lest the mysterious Student Council take action and have trouble makers disappear.

When Thurston discovers his own power, a fellow student named Fatima helps him master it and learn to navigate the status quo. But Thurston isn't satisfied with simply having a power, he wants to understand it and his efforts to establish a House of his own to discover their origins and purpose encounters no shortage of obstacles.
