Nineteen-year-old Daniel Morris has never wanted to be anything other than a farmer. Growing up on his father's farm, he never saw himself doing anything other than tending the fields and looking after the animals.

Kurt Schäfer always wanted to escape. He saw himself as being bigger than a farmer, worth more than a life stuck tending crops.

When The Great War breaks out, Daniel and Kurt find themselves with a choice to make; join up and fight, or be scrutinised by those they want called friends.
