Description
Katherine Mills' father, Ray, has a drinking problem and often loses his money while playing cards. One day, after losing again, he falsely claims that his daughter is a witch who can turn things into gold. King Arnold hears about Katherine's supposed ability and asks her to demonstrate it by turning a haystack into gold. However, Katherine has no such power. In exchange for fulfilling King Arnold's request, the witch Felicity agrees to turn the haystack into gold, but only if Katherine agrees to give her firstborn child to Felicity. Celine lives an unhappy life, forced by her parents to do all the housework. Despite this, she is determined to be independent and make it on her own. Prince Philip falls in love with Celine , but keeps his royal identity a secret from her.
