wallflower: a person who, because of shyness, unpopularity, or lack of a partner, remains on the side of a party or dance. a shy person (mainly a girl) who does not involve herself in interactions or at any social event and does not attract much attention or interest. Someone who is introverted and tends to stay off on the side.
