Chapter 1

I'm different from other kids my age.
They say I'm such an avid reader that calling me a bookworm would be an insult.
I rescue creepy-crawlies floating in pools.
I'm so introverted I would rather talk to inanimate objects than real people.
I hate romance.
And I don't even have a phone, not that I ever wanted one.
But then mom gives me a cellphone for my thirteenth birthday because I'm just starting high school and it's required. Who knew the changes it would cause in my family, social, and spiritual life?
