Description
This screenplay is meant to be fanfiction of the Back to the Future franchise about Marty McFly and his high school experiences when meeting a new friend. In 1985, Joan Larkin is living in West Covina, California and attends nearby Hill Valley High School. There, she hones her skills as a guitarist and meets the members of her band The Runaways. Lead vocalist and blonde bombshell Cherie Currie briefly stole the show as the frontwoman of the band, but after her departure, as well as the departure of the original bassist Jackie Fox, the weight of the band's last remnants falls upon the shoulders of a misguided Joan. At this point, there are only four of them: Joan as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist Lita Ford, drummer Sandy West, and bassist Laurie McAllister, their newest member, who just replaced another short-term bassist, Vicki Blue. Joan sees the demise of The Runaways, but she will not quit as a rock guitarist. Suddenly, she meets Marty McFly, and their dreams of making it big as a rockstar somehow overshadow their stark differences and keep them in a tight friendship. But can the friendship last? Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. The inconsistent timeline of The Runaways is meant to be seen as if the characters grew up around this time to be teenagers in 1985 instead of the 1970s, and is not meant to be seen as evidence of time travel. Any events or cultural trends that may have altered this timeline are not meant to be taken literally. Regardless, all representations of characters are fictitious no matter how close they resemble actual persons, living or dead.
