Mondo had only 3 friends, Chihiro, Leon, and Yasuhiro. Or, at least, 3 real friends that wasn't just a vision.

Mondo always has these visions of Taka. Whether he was doing his classwork, walking home from school, maybe a reflection in the mirror, or just a regular person at Hope's Peak.

Or he may be a vague memory, or just an unnamed person watching over Mondo and protecting him while sleeping.

He knows who he is, but does he really? It can just be his imagination playing tricks on him. After all, the brain could have many flaws, right?
