Wendy Tealy, the local "mute girl", and her twin sister got sent to the Bluewater Mental Health Facility one month before one of the most deadly pandemics in history sweeps the world. They're stranded almost immediately-the workers leave after told to quarantine, but the teenagers aren't sent home. Everyone is in here for a different reason, and nobody can get along. They send people on journeys to get supplies, and most of them don't make it back. They die either in the forest by a couple of other kids trying to survive off of the little they have, or in the houses slathered in the plague. Wendy goes on a journey. Nobody expects her to make it back. So they're all incredibly shocked when she does-with supplies. As the people drop, how will they possibly learn how Wendy survived-or how others on the outside did? It's them against survival-who's going to win?
