Prologue

Everything began 21 years ago, when I was born. My mother is one of the most powerful witches of our generation, and my father, well, he's one of the original vampires. Everyone was afraid of who I would become when I reached a certain age. The problem is that most witches don't like vampires very much, and with me being some sort of hybrid, I was in danger my whole life. The witches of my mother's coven don't have full power until they turn 21. In my veins run vampire blood, so despite the fact that I didn't get my full power until the age of 21, I have been more powerful than some witches since I was born. I was never sure of who I really am. Everyone saw a danger in me. And maybe they're right, because on my birthday, I've unlocked the door to the world where one of the sociopath witches was imprisoned. Now, only I can send him back or locked the door forever. The problem is that to do either of those things, I need his blood, so a lot of people will be after me - including him. I am afraid that even my parents won't be able to protect me.
