Description
Spoiled 17-year old Sadie Quinn is not amused when she is forced to leave Vancouver and her friends behind, because her dad Richard is going to make a documentary in Great Bear Rainforest for a Canadian nature channel. For this, the family will move to the rainforest for a year, in the very place where the Spirit Bear, a rare white bear, lives. Although at first Sadie hates living in the wild like this, with the nearest shops only reachable by boat or float plane, she becomes fascinated with her father's work and slowly starts to thaw. Their handsome young guide Riverty provides for welcome distraction as well. Nature and animals in Great Bear Rainforest are struggling because of human interference. Sadie gets the opportunity to do something about it, in a very unique way. She meets a young man named Tarqeq, who claims to have been appointed by the Moon God to help protect the rainforest's wildlife. He possesses the power of the Moon and promptly transfers it to Sadie, so she can assist him. But in the meantime, more and more people are found murdered in the rainforest in a most brutal way, almost as if some wild animal has torn them to shreds. While Sadie learns to control her powers and creates a unique bond with all life in Great Bear Rainforest, someone is arrested for the murders. And then, Sadie's new abilities and her faith in herself are really put to the test.
