"I don't want to hear it. I'm done," I say, my voice shaking with anger. "I hate that you treat me that way. I hate that I let you. No, you know what? I hate you!" My words hang heavy in the air, and I watch as his expression shifts from shock to sadness at my harsh words.

Suddenly, Ace grabs my waist with one hand and uses the other to cup my face, pulling me into a rough kiss. I'm taken aback at first, but then I find myself responding, my hand instinctively threading through his curls as the kiss deepens.

When he finally pulls back, he looks down at me, his forehead touching mine. "Don't ever say that again," he murmurs, his voice soft but firm.
