Not in place of anyone but in place of everyone, unable to bare the thought of a young woman with so much life ahead of her being thrown into the ruthless and cruel games she opted to take their place. In district 12 she was known as their beloved songbird, singing her songs across the district for any willing to listen and eventually coming to enchant all of Panem on television. Her voice spreading like honey on toast and melting the hearts of all of those around her, including her mentor. Will she win the games with once gentle hands meant to strum the guitar stained and rough to the touch? Or will she die a ruthless and cold death among so many others, her once angelic voice reduced to screams of horror in her final moments?
