The Snow

The year is 2053. It started snowing on the 16th of January 2024 and hasn't stopped since. First it was just Britain and Northern Europe, but then it spread to what were once the warmer countries. By the mid 2030s even the planes of Africa and the depths of the Amazon rainforest were covered in a layer of snow. Food is heavily rationed now and normal people have to live by a strict routine of manual labour: snow shovelling on the surface; tunnel digging and tending to underground crops. The super rich live in luxury in fabulous ice palaces. The government uses an armed force called Intonuit Legionis to make sure that everyone is where they should be at all times.
