Aika Emi is dared, well, she takes it as a dare, by her "friends" to date the school genius delinquent, whose troublemaking tendencies are tolerated by the school as his grades are quite high. One of the "friends" sucking up to Emi saying "I say, even that delinquent Akabane wouldn't have the balls to say no if Aika-rin were to ask him out. She's too pretty!" was all it took for Emi to decide that she SHOULD ask him out. Maybe then people would stop bothering her.
