Back when Jake was on Earth, he had another kid, but when his first wife died during childbirth, it was just him and his son Y/n. After his brother died it was just him and his son. When he was recruited to go to Pandora his son couldn't come along, but he promised that he would return. After years and years he never returned.

Y/n eventually gave up on his dad. After a few years of being alone he was approached by the RDA. They gave him an offer to join the super soldier program.
