In middle school, grades 7th through 8th, he abused pills and when he bullied Midoryia, he was under the influence, he never really ment it, he was just taking his frustrations about himself out on the weaker one. Once his mother found out about his drug usage, she immediately shut it down. But she wasn't kind about it. She's never kind. She's emotionally and verbally abusive, and occasionally hits her son. She never taught him the proper way to cope, and when she took away his only vice, he had to find something new. He eventually took on self harm in grade 9. And is still struggling with it. Nobody knows, or at least that's what he thinks. But it always takes one to know one.
