We follow the lives of both single mother Sophia and her young daughter and the absent father that is Marshall. When Marshall comes knocking on his daughters fifth birthday, having had no contact with the pair since Sophia's pregnancy reveal, aside from a letter she'd sent to him, how will the two parents deal with the prospect of co-parenting. Will Marshall be able to love Ava the way he does his other daughters or will too much time have passed?
