As my first semester at college rolled on, things took an unexpected turn-I found myself homeless, tossed out of my dorm by my supposed best friend. There I sat on a bench outside the dorms, with just three carry-ons and my bookbag, clueless about where to spend the night. Just when despair was setting in, a familiar voice called my name-Phoenix, a fellow student and coworker from the pizza place. He hugged me, but as I remembered my predicament, embarrassment tingled within. Phoenix, however, didn't judge. When I confessed my roommate had kicked me out, he offered a solution-a place to stay. Excitement bubbled within me as I agreed to follow him. He carried two of my bags as we headed to his car, assuring me it was only a short drive away. Relief washed over me; missing my early class wasn't on the agenda. Arriving at a luxurious apartment complex, Phoenix led me to the fourth floor. Just before reaching his brother's apartment, he hesitated, hinting that his brother, Maddox, was "difficult." Confusion grew within me, but curiosity pushed me to inquire further. As we approached the only door on the floor, questions about rent and my contribution popped into my head. Phoenix nonchalantly mentioned that Maddox didn't pay rent, leaving me utterly perplexed. The door swung open, and my surprise peaked at the sight before me. Standing there was someone who defied my expectations-an undeniable god-like figure. Tall, muscular yet not overpowering, his piercing blue eyes and long hair covering part of his face exuded an aura of enigmatic appeal.
