In the luxurious private hospital in Chicago, President Gonzales shows no joy upon hearing the news of his newborn son. He coldly rejects the child and insults the mother, Florence. Desperate to protect her baby, Florence pleads with Nelson not to harm their child.

Despite her efforts to soothe the baby, Nelson threatens to throw the infant out of the window. In a last-ditch attempt to calm the baby, Florence breastfeeds him, causing Nelson to accuse her of seducing him.
