After a bad breakup between her and her boyfriend of 5 years, Eirene Belladonna Féidhelm decides to leave the suffocating and loud environment of New York City and move to her deceased mother's hometown. In a small Island that lies on the west coast of Norway called Runde. Living in her mother's old cottage at the edge of the small village of Holen. The peaceful and quiet mornings were something she loved. The locals knew her mother once upon a time and were extremely nice. Everything seemed perfect. But what happens when a body is found strangely mauled with no bears in sight? The strange kill catches the attention of the Norwegian authorities resulting in the start of an investigation in the small village. Will the Norwegian authorities suspect Eirene? Will they manage to stop the killings? Will the locals distrust Eirene and shun her? How will Eirene keep her secret from the authorities on the Island?
