Whack! Sound ringing, I hit my egg on my Baba’s. With some help from the kitchen lights, we checked for cracks. Knowing the winner would be the one with no crack, I looked at the, hopefully smooth shell of the egg. “Dang it,” I said. Of course, he beat me again. Looking up into his face, I saw he was smiling. I smiled back. He lifted up his egg; the white surface was as smooth as the dark sky out the window. My face wrinkled, than broke out laughing. Looking around, I saw the rest of the family hadn't noticed. Looking back at him, I saw he was still smiling. I remember that smile from all those months ago. Little did I know that may be one of the last times I ever would see it. In my minds eye, the scene changed. It was later in July.
