Samantha Midnight is a thief. She works for the highest bidder. On her last job, she discovered something that she wasn't ready for: Knox Mackenzie, the FBI agent who is hot on her trail.

As Samantha goes into hiding for the heat to die down, she takes herself to the beaches of the California coast. Not looking for trouble, it finds her when the FBI agent and her last job come back to haunt her. Trying to escape her mistake, Sam allows Knox to help her, not knowing the danger they are now in.
