The cold had no hold on her, it was as if nothing made sense any more. The world had stopped turning and there was just her and this grave. Beth let her tears roll down her cheeks, disappearing among the drops of water. All her efforts, all her sacrifices, all her losses. It wasn't fair. She wanted to die, to take his place and disappear. This was the way things were, fixed, engraved, definitive and now she had to keep her promise. A hand rested gingerly on her shoulder and she recognised Professor Weasley. The teacher was protecting her from the weather with her wand. It's time. Even if she would have preferred it otherwise.
