In a world where humans are paired with familiars, two wayward souls find themselves entangled in a battle that threatens life as they know it. **** There isn't much choice a crown princess can make when deciding her future. As heiress to the kingdom of Abreathia, Briah must prove herself in order to solidify her claim to her mother's throne. And with big shoes to step into, Briah has been a disappointment since the day she was born. But things do not go as planned for the rumoured blight that attacks familiars is inching closer and closer to the Abreathian capital, Myre. Meanwhile, Ayryn is a wanted man who flees to Myre to escape the one hunting him. His only goal is to be free, but his arrival coincides with the arrival of the blight, throwing him into the path of the mad god of prophecy, Donis. Out of desperation, he makes a bargain with the god, one that gives him the gift of foresight but at a terrible cost. But through his bargain, he sees a way to stop the blight once and for all. And he needs the Crown Princess to accomplish it. And when Ayryn's and Briah's paths cross, the strengths and wills are tested in this legend of gods, magic and the will of humanity.
