Nineteen years ago, James Conrad made a mistake. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't much of one; after all, most people don't end up with their secondary school sweetheart. Most people don't leave said sweetheart asleep, naked, under an oak tree either though... After saving Kong, Conrad's life went from one type of bitter to another. Forced to join MONARCH, the former SAS officer was at their beck and call; while the missions were always engaging, they never felt... fulfilling. Like he was actively working to protect and preserve life as he was told, but more like he was helping to catalog all of the worlds monsters for a bigger project. And he just might be... When his old girlfriend happens to walk back into his life asking for his help, James can't turn her down.
