Life is an act. Or atleast, it is for Eric Lovelace and Anela Mercari. In the near fututre, America has split into ten different sub-countries, with entirely different laws, and extreme ideologies implanted in their law system. In some state-countries, pregnancy has to be approved for individuals, and most jobs are taken by AI. Poverty and rebellion run rampant. Anela Mercari had her first illegal son fifteen years ago, and now, she is pregnant with her second illegal child. As an escort, she will do anything it takes to save up enough money to get her and her family out of the sub-countries, but when she finds out she is pregnant, her timeline shortens. She quickly takes a job as an escort to a main politician in The Western Alliance. Eric Lovelace is next door neighbor to Anela Mercari, and unknowingly the father of her unborn child. As a unemployed actor, he takes any gig he can get, and unknowingly hires himself onto the rebellion as an undercover spy, working to rebuild America to it's former unified state. His goal is to get him and Anela out of the sub-countries, but their accidental job titles make that extremely difficult.
