Coraline is a normal high school student living in a small town called Lone wolf that is located far away from the rest of civilisation in the mountains. There small town is surrounded by forest it's like they live in a small crater. But there is a danger within them forests, they are home to massive wolves... it's what makes there small town famous for. The locals know not to enter because once you enter you are never heard of or seen again.
