Science fiction. The Violent Verse

This science fiction story is about shadows with the ability to consume anything they come in contact with. These shadows are born in a verse called, The Violent Verse. And a man somehow makes these shadows his slave and uses them to destroy a planet. But few men and women send a man to the Violent Verse, who they believe has the ability similar to the Shadow Man. According to them if he succeeds in taming few shadows in the Violent Verse he can render these evil shadows ineffective.
