Loki felt his nostrils flaring and his face stretching into something that perhaps grown men would find threatening, but this child only looked at him curiously with a strange glint in its eyes. "Look at your hands." It repeated, glancing up at them. He tore his gaze away from it and glanced down, turning them over. After a few moments, he shook his head and cast a questioning look back at the creature. "What am I meant to be seeing?" "They drip with blackness." The child said, slowly, "Blackness that does not belong to you. It is the blood of the people you killed." Before his attempt to sabotage Thor's coronation, Loki encounters a strange child on earth, gifted with the ability to see the truth about the person she looks at. Moved enough to care, Loki visits her three times before disappearing, resurfacing a few years after his attack on New York with his lips sewn together, in golden chains and his magic in shreds, pursued by half the universe and an outcast to all who know him. An outcast to all except Henrietta Knott, the aforementioned child - twenty-two, now - who sees light in his dark, ice-clad heart, although she finds it hard to forgive him for all that he has done. Together, they fill out one another's lives before fate begins to toy with Loki Laufeyson once more. Bear in mind: This story is not recommended for anybody under the age of eighteen. It is a clean story, but deals with some heavy topics like madness and torture. A complex, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers story, set in the MCU.
