Joanne and James Sink, the children of Colonel Sink arrive at camp Toccoa in September of 1942 due to some happenings at home.

The Sink children failed to plan ahead for when they were to leave Toccoa after visiting their father, being too busy with stuff back at home and getting to their fathers' current residence.

There were talks and proposals, the Sink children agreed to serve in the Airborne, willingly.

Joanne's 'enlistment' was an experiment to see how women would do in the army, actually fighting among hundreds of men.
