The Early Years... A Poem

We all should remember the Christmas story of the Grinch,
whose heart was too small and his shoes gave a pinch.
Well, here's a new tale, after an introductory rhyme,
That takes place in another city and during a different time.

"There's a monster in the mountains" is the word on every lip,
And Nicole Juniper thinks otherwise, ignoring their little tip.
But what does she find when she meets the aforementioned beast?
Is she doomed, or will she make a new friend, at least?
