Echoes in the Hallway (Sounds in the Dark)

He's been alone for a long while. He used to count the days, the minutes, listening for the ticking that came from his grandfather's chest. He doesn't listen for it anymore.

When Space hears small footsteps echoing in his cage, he stills. They're blessed by the shadows, their steps quick and light. They're easy to track for something like him, a disturbance in his Space. He'd grin if he were capable.
