Mackenzie Lyon, loving daughter, helpful sister, open-minded, not exactly human. When Mackenzie's parents and siblings are killed by three men with red eyes she runs away to escape from being next. She soon finds herself being escorted to a meadow by four strange people hanging around in the woods--Shane, Olivia, Eddie and Jasper. They take her to the leader of the meadow, Thomas, who confirms her fears. Her family was killed by vampires. He also tells her that she isn’t human but no one knows what she really is, oh and that everyone in the meadow in a werewolf. Thomas allows Mackenzie to stay in the meadow until the vampires can be killed but before they can kill them the werewolf prince has to make sure she's trust worthy. On top of that she has to find out who she really is!
