National Novel Writing Month! NaNoWriMo 2023! Bethany Miller is engaged to her rich and powerful college sweetheart, Evan Schultz. When the toxicity of her relationship comes to light, Bethany attempts to downplay the actions of her fiance. Through fear, gaslighting, and sweet talk Evan convinces Bethany that he knows what's best for her. When Malcolm Wolfe, Evan's best friend, arrives on the scene he isn't afraid to tell Bethany or 'Annie' what's on his mind. Soon Malcolm Wolfe faces homelessness and no job, with nowhere to go Malcolm turns to Evan who lets him move in. Bethany finds herself living with two men, and notices their differences right away. As Bethany gets to know Malcolm, she starts to have feelings. One night while riding on his motorcycle, Malcolm Wolfe pulls over when he spots a man lying helpless on the side of the road. As Malcolm attempts to aid the hit-and-run victim, the police arrive on the scene. While covered in blood Malcolm is arrested for a crime he didn't commit. When Bethany gets word that Malcolm's been arrested, she'll have to decide if he's telling the truth or not. With no alibi and a criminal record under his name will Malcom be able to prove his innocence before it's too late?
