Trevor is a depressed want-to be writer who is treating his depression with alcohol and drugs. He is slowly becoming addicted to both. Serena is an innocent Catholic schoolgirl who is locked in her bedroom most of the time by her strict parents. Trevor and Serena are trying to date in secret and sneaking around behind her parents' back.
