Asher and his bestfriend make a bet. He has to ask out a girl of his friend's choosing, date her exclusively until the Winter Formal, and then dump her in front of everyone. Cruel? One might think so, but it's a cruel world and we're talking about Asher Matthews after all. He's an infamous heartbreaker, you know the type, the one who goes out with a new girl every week and then dumps her for the next skinny blonde he sets his sights on. A real peach that one. He doesn't do long term relationships, or dances if he can avoid them, and he most certainly does not do love. However, he's Asher Matthews and he never backs down from a bet. Besides, this will be easy, right? Or so he thinks... Enter Mae Summers. She's quiet, shy, and absolutely cannot stand Asher and his friends. Underneath Mae's introverted exterior, she's a spirited woman who's personality matches her firey-red hair. She thinks he's rude, arrogant, and unnecessarily cruel to the women he dates. He thinks she's nerdy, too innocent, and all around boring. She despises him. He pretends she doesn't exist. He gets whatever he wants, whenever he wants and she's worked hard for everything she has. When the two are thrown together in the midst of a bet, they are bound to clash, at least, that's what everyone thought.
