The world thought Kenric died. And maybe somewhere deep down, a little part of him had in the time he'd spent in the Neverseen's clutches. But it didn't matter when he saw her. None of it mattered. Only her. Oralie's world was gone. All she could do was put one step in front of the other. She couldn't take a moment to pause, or everything she'd ever worked for would collapse. She was drowning, but it didn't matter. None of it mattered. Because he was gone. Ok fine if you really want the real description hehe: Oralie always thought she'd step down with Kenric once this was all over. She'd spend the rest of her life with him. It never occurred to her that by the time this ended, he'd be gone. Now she's falling apart, and no one's there to pick up the pieces. But when a showdown with the Neverseen reveals their possession of a hostage that could throw the Lost Cities into chaos, she's torn once more between her duties and her love. The whole world is depending on her to do the right thing. But he is her whole world. Spoiler alert: Kenric's alive hehehehe I don't actually know when this takes place. I've read too many KotLC fanfictions to know at this point. I haven't actually read Legacy though (Well. I may have skimmed certain parts in Stellarlune iykwim. But yeah.) so we'll pretend it takes place after Flashback. Note: not my art, but it's so beautiful!! I think it's on Instagram. IT'S A KORALIE FIC since I rarely see any Koralie fics and it makes me sad. (Except Perfect Match on Ao3 by Fangirl2004. You don't even need an account to read it. It's online.
