Before you begin...

Ares is sick.
She sees nothing but four white walls closing in on her as they put poison in her veins and allow for it to heal the sickness in her body.
Ares is alone.
She hears nothing but her heartbeat and the sound of time as it slowly comes to catch up to her.
But the god of war needs a soldier. She needs him. The boy with hair like midnight and eyes that take in her soul.
She needs his promises that they belong together and nothing can separate them. She needs his words just as much as he needs her. As he pledges allegiance to his King, letting her know that since that first meeting of eyes- fate had created their story.
