Chapter 1

'Lavender slid to a stop in the alleyway, her dirty Converse splashing into a puddle, hand outstretched. She slowly sank to the ground. Just as she was about to fall into despair, a hand grabbed her shoulders and hauled her up. It was a girl about her age, with long brown hair falling to her shoulders. She had a glint in her eye, like nothing could ever stop her if she put her mind into it.
She stuck out her hand. "Hi. I'm Mindy. Follow me, and I'll explain everything."'
