Aurelia Williams' friends all want to be like the princesses in fairy tales, but she wishes she wasn't. Despite her child ingenuity, her life is just like the paperback copy of Cinderella her mother gave her before she died, only without the Prince Charming. Her step mother, Mona, and two step-sisters, Valentine and Valerie, won't let her ever live a life close to a normal five-year-old's.

Her only escape is through writing, where she can forget about everything, and just be the character.

When she meets Zander, a young, mysterious boy, the two worlds, fictional and real, collide. Can she manage to make everything right?
