To the West

In the waning days of the last great battle on Middle Earth, the world finally found itself bathed in peace and glory again. Creatures in the earth and sky gathered and celebrated, singing songs of the victors' triumph. As the age of Men ushered in a long era of dominion over Middle Earth and most of the Elves started their departure for the West, the deeds of us Elves inevitably began to fade into the vast river of history, forgotten by late generations. As the Steward of the Greenwood Realm, I believe the duty to chronicle the tales of our woodland kin falls upon me, while dispelling the unfounded speculations and rumors that humankind has perpetuated about us.
