On the morning of February 4th, 1959, teenage Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison wake up to the news that their rock n' roll hero and idol, Buddy Holly has died the night before in an airplane crash along with Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. With Elvis Presley being drafted into the army the year before, and the adults always disapproving of the music they love so much, it seems as if there's no hope for these three rock n' roll lovers that will one day change the fate of the music world as we know it. Rest in peace, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper. Note: I'm trying not to be biased and choose Buddy Holly as my "favorite," but since I don't know if John, George or Paul liked Ritchie Valens or the Big Bopper, (Who are both very amazing musicians, especially Ritchie who I'm a huge fan of!) and I know for a fact that they absolutely adored Buddy, then I'm just going to make this mostly Buddy oriented, but their sadness is for all of them as equally as possible. And lastly, Ringo is not in this story because he wasn't a part of their band in 1959, and not until about 1962, but he met them earlier than that.
