Catherine Beaufort is the daughter of Edmund Beaufort, 2nd Duke of Somerset, she was only two years old when her father was killed by the Duke of York, she grew up in her enemy's court, Edward IV and when her family wants to make peace with him they offer her hand in marriage to his brother, Richard, Duke of Gloucester.

She doesn't want to marry him and would rather support her cousins son, Henry Tudor, but she has no choice to surrender her red rose for a white one.
