As a result of Harry being raised by Sirius and Remus, Harry Potter is in Slytherin, this is the fifth in a series, you won't understand what's going on without reading the other books. What you need to know is in his toddler years Sirius and Remus could barely make ends meet before Sirius inherited his uncles fortune, that for many months they lived with the Tonks, that Harry has to spend some time each year at the Dursley's. Sirius wanted Harry to know the children of fellow OotP members so he already is friends with Ron, Ginny, Fred, and George (Prewett's) Susan Bones (Edgar Bones) and Neville Longbottom (Alice and Frank). Andromeda and Ted are like his aunt and uncle, and Nymphadora like his cousin/sister. Also Harry has an adopted little sister named Canini Howling who is a werewolf and her parents were murdered by Fenrir Greyback, she's 13 & 3/4 when the story starts and her mother was Eli Burke, granddaughter of Herbert and Belvina and greatgreat-granddaughter of Caractacus. Canini's half Italian. Sirius and Remus are also fostering Theodore Nott. At the start of this book Harry's other friends included Allison Runcorn, Theodore Nott, Tracey Davis, and Terence Higgs.
