Gordon Freeman takes Gman's deal, and instead of just going straight to stasis for 20 years, he sends him to hell, for, in Gman's words, " No particular reason." and his employers want to see all of his "talents", (not in the sexual way) basically making allies with people along the way, and seeing a gasmask that looks vaguely familiar.
