Description
I met my best friend on a ledge. It was a Tuesday some time in may. I was sitting on the ledge of the English block at my school with my legs dangling over the edge, I suppose everyone else was in class because of how empty everything looked. ---------- Alice Keller is a 15 year old girl with schizophrenia. She lives in a small town in South England where almost everyone knows about it. Because of this she tries to keep her head down and not attract too much attention. She is on a, successful, medication which helps her to lay low. The medication, however, has a few side affects such as: dizziness, blurred vision, movement effects (tremors, stiffness, agitation, ect.). One day she is approached by a girl (Bernadette 'Birdie' Fletcher) who teaches Alice to love life and herself. They become the best of friends and Birdie is by her side through everything. When Birdie finds out about Alice's schizophrenia she persuades her to do psycho therapy. Once she starts going though everything starts to change. The one question is: was it for the better or the worse?
