She quickly apologized, her voice laced with regret. "Sorry. I didn't know what got into me," she said, her words trailing off as if she hadn't fully processed what had just happened. I could feel the tension in the air, thick and awkward. Trying to brush off the frustration, I muttered under my breath, "Maybe if you removed that fucking hoodie, you might see well." My tone was sharp, harsh even, and it slipped out before I could stop it. She blinked confusion spreading across her face. "Huh?" she asked, her voice small, unsure of whether she'd heard me correctly. My face reddened, the weight of my words settling in. "Fuck," I muttered, frustrated with myself as much as with the situation. Running a hand through my hair, I turned on my heel and walked off, leaving the silence to hang in the air between us
