Prologue

Taylor Lawrence became an orphan the day the blood creatures burned their village to the ground and massacred her father's Pack. A neighbouring Pack took her in and provided her with safety and care. However, as Taylor came of age, her life took a drastic turn when she survived the tremendous terror of her first Change. The world had no idea how to handle the first female werewolf, let alone a female Alpha. Her father's hefty name weighed heavily on her and only intensified the target on her back. Now a young adult, all Taylor wanted was to spend her days in bed with Daniel Legrand, the Alpha of Constantines. But the heritage coursing through her veins seemed to have a different destiny in store for her.

Daniel hadn't willingly chosen to bear the famous Legrand name, particularly because it complicated his relationship with the woman he had deeply fallen in love with. However, Daniel soon found himself confronting his father's enemies. His Pack couldn't stand alone against the Vampire Father, who had been reducing the wolf population for decades.

The blood creatures had already hunted the witches to extinction, and the werewolves were already vastly outnumbered. They were "kept in check" by the Rules of the Beasts, regulations penned centuries ago but strictly enforced by the Vampire Father.
