Description
Sakura is confused when she finds a strange letter in a box her sister gave her before she died. The letter is from a girl named Aya. She doesn't know anyone named Aya, but she writes a letter back and puts it in the box. She soon finds another letter in its place. She is communicating with a girl across the ocean but has no idea why it's happening. She feels that Aya is her only real friend, her best friend Setsuko, who came back from a trip to America changed completely. Sakura feels that she needs to meet Aya because she feels really close to her and also thinks that Aya may be planning on hurting herself, but she cannot be sure until she meets her in person. Aya only wakes up in the morning for her younger brother. She feels she has no real friends. Her classmates only want to be kind to her because she has lots of money. But money can't buy friends. Or happiness. But Aya starts exchanging letters with a Japanese girl, Sakura and becomes close to her. She wants to meet Sakura but her mother does everything to stop her.
