Description
Clara Molino is far from a perfect warrior, and she makes that known, amongst her passionate lack of interest in being the chosen one. Grouchy and self-deprecating, Clara is any of us placed in the same shoes. Everyone wants to be a hero, but does anyone want to be injected with painful superhuman liquid, be trained by a morally questionable group and battle a reincarnated, centuries old warrior and her minions? Between having a dead-beat dad, an alcoholic mother and practically raising her four siblings, Clara just wants a break. She wants to feel like herself again. She expects a two-week school trip around the world, with her best friend, to present the perfect break. She does not expect to be harassed by a ghastly, frail older woman. She fights every step of the hero-becoming process, thus establishing a challenging relationship with her mentor whom Clara has nicknamed after the Indonesian word for Nightmare. Her mentor is convinced that love is Clara's only down fall; fears that her relationship with Easton Andrews will be her undoing. But there is absolutely nothing going on between her and Andrews; except constant child-like bickering... At least, according to Clara. As Clara and Andrews' relationship blossoms, as they both become impossibly closer and distant, is Mimpi right? Will love destroy Clara?
